Center for Advanced Laser Technologies
Overview
Our Center consists of three laboratories with specific activities.
The research activity of the CETAL-PW laboratory is focused on the interaction of ultra-short high-intensity lasers with matter and its aplications: plasma physics and diagnostics, production of sources of energetic particles and radiation and their applications in different scientific fields (medicine, chemistry, space science).
Laser Materials Processing Laboratory supports fundamental research and industrial applications in the field of laser materials processing. The R&D focuses on laser processing of various materials (polymers, glasses, ceramics, metals, composites) at macro-, micro- and nanometer scale. The research results emerge in cutting edge technologies for the industrial sector.
Photonic Investigations Laboratory is focusing on application and development of optical characterization techniques to the study of solid-state and biological phenomena at micro- and nanoscale. New technologies are applied and developed for… The high power laser infrastructure includes two main systems:
1-PW laser facility
TEWALAS facility.
The laser processing infrastructure includes:
MICRO-NANO-PROCESSING:
Laser system for 2D and 3D laser lithography
Picosecocond laser workstation for microprocessing (galvano-scanners and ultraprecise stages)
Tunable CW CO2 Laser source
Pulsed laser deposition system (PLD), RHEED compatible
Clean Room class 10.000 – 100 m2.
MACRO-PROCESSING:
Laser systems up to 3 kW for macroprocessing
5 axis Laser workstation
6 axis ROBOTIC arm.
Other equipment concerns Raman spectroscopy, LIBS spectroscopy, THz spectroscopy, Spectroscopy (from 200 nm to THz), Fluorecence Microscopy, Vibrometry, Laser beam characterization, Cell culture lab, Microfluidics lab.
