Get Ready for Japan Programme - Expand your business in Japan through targeted training
Application deadline: 4 September 2025
The programme is designed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the inner workings of Japanese companies and equip them with the tools needed to identify promising business partnership opportunities.
This initiative is open to SMEs established in the European Union or in countries participating in the SME Pillar of the Single Market Programme.
This intensive training programme is designed to help managers and executives of European SMEs navigate the specificities of Japanese business culture, gain insight into local decision-making processes, and build strong relationships with Japanese counterparts.
Costs:
- Training fees are fully covered by the EU-Japan Centre
- Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses
Deposit: A refundable deposit of €1,000 is required from selected participants. This will be reimbursed upon completion of the mission.

About the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation
The EU-Japan Centre is a joint venture established in 1987 by the European Commission (DG GROW) and the Japanese Government (METI) for promoting all forms of industrial, trade and investment cooperation between the EU and Japan. It is jointly funded and managed by both sides, with a head office in Tokyo and an office in Brussels.
