CLEANTECH LATVIA (CL) is an environmental cluster organization, established in 2006 in Latvia. CL unites around 40 SME’s and 6 R&D and education organizations with whom it cooperates to capture new export markets, create new value chains, develop new products and services, and enhance common competitiveness. Competence areas of CL are covering sustainable resource management and nature protection, intelligent water and waste management, organic and resource effective agriculture, efficient use of energy by providing solutions and technologies for industries and municipalities.

CL main office is located in Riga, Latvia and 2 representative offices in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan transfers our experiences and EU approach to Central Asia. Main objectives of CLEANTECH LATVIA organization are:

  • Capacity building by strengthening collaboration between members, industry and government representatives and by knowledge sharing, peer-to-peer learning and tech demonstrations;
  • Raising knowledge and understanding regarding latest environmental problems and providing solutions through capacity building activities (workshops, seminars, trainings, site visits and study tours)
  • Export promotion and trade facilitation through transfer of EU approach to developing economies.


CL has participated in several EU/National co-funded projects that cover a wide range of topics, such as:

  • Capacity building for public and private sector;
  • Promotion of international competitiveness;
  • Green economy and business;
  • Energy efficiency, waste and water management.
