ELCA aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the European lighting sector in the smart and connected lighting (S&CL), to accelerate growth within the sector, deployment of energy-efficient lighting solutions and to contribute to societal benefits associated to lighting. ELCA gathers local Lighting Cluster Initiatives in Europe, that support SMEs of the lighting sector. As of today, ELCA is composed of clusters from France - Cluster Lumière, Italy - Rete di Imprese Luce in Veneto, Spain - Cluster d’Illuminació de Catalunya – CICAT and Belgium - Groen Licht Vlaanderen.

The lighting industry has been the leading industry in energy efficiency for products and one of the ELCA’s goals is to disseminate knowledge and awareness on the energy efficiency and circular economy concepts among its members and their lighting companies (mainly SMEs that represents the majority of the sector companies) to further minimize their ecological footprint and prolong the lifetime of products.
