Looking back at past mission to Taiwan

In 2023, the EU-Taiwan Matchmaking Event was held in close collaboration with the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI), the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Ministry of Economic Affairs. The event brought together over 40 representatives from Taiwanese clusters, SMEs, and government bodies, along with a European delegation of 11 clusters and SMEs from 13 EU and COSME countries. More than 100 cluster-to-cluster (C2C) and business-to-business (B2B) meetings were held, aiming to inspire new partnerships, promote best practice exchange, and support forward-looking cooperation.

Building on this success, the 2024 edition took place in Berlin from June 10 to 12, alongside the Taiwan Expo 2024 in Europe. Organised by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform on behalf of the European Commission, together with TAITRA and the European Enterprise Network (EEN), the event attracted a wide range of innovative Taiwanese and European participants.

During a dedicated matchmaking session in Berlin, over 60 targeted meetings took place between companies and clusters, focusing on sustainable technology development. Participants also attended the Taiwan-EU Semiconductor Forum and visited Fraunhofer IZM, a leading institute in semiconductor and packaging research.

All previous editions have significantly strengthened EU-Taiwan industrial collaboration, fostering innovation, sustainability, and strategic dialogue between regions.
