Revolutionizing Industrial Drying for a Sustainable Future
While sustainability remains at the heart of the European Union's long-term strategy, heavy industries such as mining continue to face significant challenges in reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions. The ECODRY project, co-funded by the INGENIOUS Innovation Grant, is reshaping mineral processing by introducing an energy-efficient compressor-driven dryer, setting a new standard for sustainability in the industry.

Pioneering Energy Efficiency in Mining
Led by E.G. Eugene Global Ltd (Cyprus) in collaboration with GEOHELLAS SA (Greece) and Anastasios Vasilopoulos (Greece), the ECODRY project focuses on developing a retrofit version of an existing dryer, integrating advanced compressor technology to reduce energy consumption and emissions.

With its innovative high-speed spindle motor, the ECODRY dryer achieves a higher compression ratio, making it significantly more efficient than conventional drying methods. The project’s successful small-scale and industrial-scale prototypes—tested and implemented at the GEOHELLAS plant in Greece—demonstrate the feasibility and impact of the technology.
